Mr. Schroder is my son's Grandfather. He was such a wonderful influence on Zachary. Mr. Schroder was always kind to me and never treated me like an outsider. A few months ago Zak and I took PaPa on a 'date'. Knowing how much he enjoyed the Shrimp Scampi at Red Lobster...we made that our destination. He was enjoying himself so much that Zak and I hated to end the afternoon so soon...so we took him to Oglethorpe Mall. He looked at a radio that he was considering getting for Grandma Betty for her nightstand. We had such a good time window shopping. We didn't go very far into the mall but needless to say...I think he slept very well that night! I wish circumstances were different so that I could have spent more time getting to know him...I bet he had a wealth of stories to share. My husband and I were blessed to have Mr. & Mrs. Schroder come to our wedding 6 years ago. Handsome couple. I hope that my marriage will last as long as theirs...and I can only hope that my soul mate takes as good care of me as Grandma Betty cared for PaPa. Oliver, Jr. and Elizabeth set wonderful examples for Zachary and others by the way they lovingly cared for their father. I know the last leg of his journey was very troubled and it was not easy for the Schroder family. I am very priviledged to call them my friends and family.
